RAUNCHY: Studio Update
July 14, 2005Danish modern metallers RAUNCHY have entered Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (INVOCATOR) to begin recording their third album, tentatively due in early 2006 through an as-yet-undetermined label. The band's drummer, Morten Toft Hansen, has posted the following recording update on the group's official forum:
"First recording day we setup the drums, Hansi made the rough drum sound, he ruled it that day. I recorded 2 tracks that day too. I always like to start with the easy tracks and then go on to the more thrash/double bass kind of 'not so easy' tracks. It all went well and the drum sound is amazing, this time I think the attack of the drums is better + the bass drums sound bigger. Really loud.
"Jesper and Lars decided to recorded six rhythm guitars instead of four as we normally do!!? Man, what a wall of sound! Hansi has never done that before but we all thought the sound was so evil that we decided to do it that way, even though it is tough' to track 6 guitars exactly the same... Then we spent the rest of the week on the drums, we really wanted to make sure everything was perfect. When J'cup goes home each day we continue to track guitar ourselves, Luckly Lars and Tild' are really talented as engineers so they are more than halfway done with the rhythm guitars.
"When Jeppe, Jesper Q and Kasper are not playing Playstation2, they work on ideas in another room — the use our own computer and man — I can't wait to hear the real shit — it already rocks my world already — I'm am definetly not affraid of how this is gonna turn out — I already know that it is gonna be as good as 'Velvet Noise' and 'Confusion Bay' and I hope it's gonna be our 'Master of Puppets' — we will see what you guys think when it's out."
Among the songtitles being considered for inclusion on the CD are "Hope Divider", "The Automation of Emotion", "Days Forever", "This City We Ride", "Hysteria Burn", "Farewell to Devotion", "The Dark Hush", "Phantoms", "I Will Avenge", "Rise Phoenix Rise" and "Red are the Flames of Hell".
RAUNCHY split with Nuclear Blast Records in January after releasing two albums through the label (2002's "Velvet Noise" and 2004's "Confusion Bay"). The upcoming CD will mark the recording debut with the group of new singer Kasper Thomsen, who replaced Lars Vognstrup last year.
RAUNCHY's previously unreleased cover version of FAITH NO MORE's "From out of Nowhere" has been made available for download at this location. The song was originally recorded during the sessions for the band's latest CD, "Confusion Bay".
